Organised by professionals to help industry stakeholders.

According to Greek mythology, Icaros (Icarus) was the first to die in an aviation accident. His father, Daedalus, gave him wings of feathers attached to his body with beeswax. As an experienced aviator, Daedalus had warned his son not to fly too close to the sun, but overwhelmed by youthful arrogance and the feeling of being able to fly, Icarus forgot time and place and flew so high that the sun melted the wax.

Mechanical failure, fatigue, procedural errors – here are several points to address in terms of accident analysis, causality and prevention. As in the accident report on Icarus, it is important in modern aviation to learn from operational analysis. Using insights, incidents, and accidents is useful for the industry and society.

Stimulate research:
Aviation is an industry with exponential growth. The forecasts for international aviation that have been prepared show that there will be a great need for research and development. Strict technological standards combined with operational and practical benefits will provide opportunities for innovative companies. Practical drone use is currently a relatively unexplored resource. Here ICAROS will be able to contribute with operational expertise.

Improving flight safety:
High levels of aviation safety in commercial passenger transport have not come about by chance. Proactive work decades ago has laid the foundation for the good statistics we see today. Maintaining this standard requires considerable effort to anticipate and prevent incidents and accidents. At the same time, other parts of the aviation industry are experiencing a greater degree of unwanted incidents. Here, ICAROS can contribute by sharing expertise.

ICAROS has many available experts with different backgrounds, from academic analysis to direct HR work in connection with accident prevention.
